Ice Cream Bread Recipe (2024)

Ice Cream Bread Recipe (1)

Yes it is ice cream bread

There are 2 pints of ice cream in the bread you see above…. and no it is not going to melt

It WILL get gobbled up SUPER quickly

My husband LOVES my ice cream bread and will eat half a loaf in one sitting – the bread is NOT sweet but has tons of flavor so it can be eaten without having to add anything

This recipe is SO easy I really encourage you have your kids ( if you have them) help you make it —- I know it meant a lot to me as a kid when I use to make this bread for my family

I know I know what you are thinking — I am NOT kidding this is ALL you need to make the loaf of bread you see in the picture above

Nothing else – no extra water or ANYTHING

You can try different types of ice cream if you like I find Haagen-Dazs works the best. I usually use coffee as one of the flavors BUT I wanted this loaf to look like a normal loaf for y’all

You will also need self- rising flour. I have tried to look for self – rising gluten – free flour but have not found any.

I got my dad to help mix the batter – trick is to let the ice cream to soften

After it bakes let the bread cool in the pan for a good hour then it is ready to slice. Again this bread is not sweet nor is it sandwich bread I rather call it “snacking bread”

I really hope you enjoy this recipe if you do decide to make it pretty please comment on the recipe post how you like it – reviews help other readers a lot 🙂

Love You!

One last picture – Here is my dad setting up dish for pictures 🙂 Thanks Dad!

Just finished making the ice cream bread! I went with vanilla and dulce de leche. My house smells incredibly wonderful! Taste test in about an hour, will get you an update!

I do have one questions….I did the toothpick test, and the very middle didn’t want to get firm. I left it in the oven for about 10 minutes more, but didn’t want to take the chance I would burn the bottom or the edges. Will keep you posted. Hoping it melds into the surrounding areas. Oh, my. I’m hungry!

      • Watson

Oh I hope it works out!!! Let me know 🙂

        • Tina

It absolutely did “meld” … the bread is incredible! Delicious, without being too sweet. Can’t wait to try other combinations!

This might be a silly question but does coffee ice cream make the bread taste like coffee?

    • Watson
